Confirmed from Leopold Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Serene, landscaped park, with a creek and a playground. Picnic areas and a baseball field also figure.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (110 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“This is a nice quiet park with beautiful scenery and a pretty stream running through.”

This is a nice quiet park with beautiful scenery and a pretty stream running through. There’s a softball field and a soccer field. Most of the softball games are Sundays with adult teams. There is a paved walking path that winds and goes back into a quiet peaceful part of the park.

★★★★★ — Erin , Nov 2020

There is a playground, walking area, stream, softball field and soccer field. It's a very nice place to picnic or have a celebration of some sort. It's on the way to the World famous Horseshoe Curve.

★★★★☆ — Bruce , Apr 2019

It's a nice big Park and basically has everything to do but swings and disc golf. Lots of space to run around basketball court Jungle Gym baseball soccer field bathroom picnic areas.

★★★★☆ — I , Jul 2019

The park is so nice, not really busy and there are so many open areas for kids to run around. Seeing Burgoon Run’s waters go through there is beautiful and the kids loved it. So so cool that you can view and hear trains from the pavilion that are on their way to Horseshoe Curve!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
