Confirmed from Lion's Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Small, grassy park featuring new & old play structures, a walking path & picnic pavilions.
What runners say about Lion's Park
“Spacious and well maintained, it had training structures for your dog there as well.”
“Minus the one lady on the phone with 2 beautiful huskys that she totally ignored the pooping everywhere.”
“The park has a tree canopy and contains multiple fun things to do.”
“On a quiet street next to some ball fields, has a playground included for the kids and a large fenced in area for both big and little dogs.”
It has a nice pavilion with electric. Has a playground for younger kids. It has a dog walk and park next to it. Parking is a long way for older people.
They have two separate area gated off for your dog to run free. Park is older and has older play equipment for kids ,but still a nice park to visit.
Only negative is....difficult to get those w limited mobility due to age or handicap or to get the supplies for a gathering to the Large pavillion area. A driving path would be very helpful.
Perhaps the largest park in Southgate. Nice shady sidewalk paths to walk. Playground equipment for the kids and several pavilions to picnic in. Quiet and peaceful.

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
