Confirmed from Loblolly Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Loblolly Trailhead
“Trails are beautiful and well maintained.”
Good trail. It's out-n-back, but you can take Reedy Creek Rd back for a loop. Would recommend this way for a good lake view.
Trails are beautiful and well maintained. I hiked up to Davies Pond which was very nice. It was good spot to set up a hammock, eat lunch, and read a book. If it’s your first time, make sure you follow the marked trail (blue squares). The trail shown on google maps is the old layout.
This trail has a couple of highlights, but there is a part that isn't marked very well. Maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention but I ended up walking in circles 3 times before I figured it out. Haha. There's some cool stuff off trail for the people wanting to explore, but honestly...
Clean well maintained trail. It was easy and appeared to be very popular. In a sloping area there are exposed metal rods so jist be cautious. Arrive early to avoid the crowds and the humidity. Be careful at that first river crossing, the stone slabs are slippery and can catch you off guard so don't jump.
Trail conditions & character
“Moderately hilly, but the switchbacks make hiking pretty easy.”
“At least with a mountain, if we hike a couple hours, there's a mountain view at the end.”
“For a little variation turn right at 2nd Multi-Use Trail intersection which will loop back to Loblolly.”
“It used to go through the valley between this hill and the next hills out to the flat area and then came to Reedy Creek.”
“Water station access can be found on that section of MUT.”
