Confirmed from Longleaf Vista Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular spot with a 1.5-mi. hiking trail through a longleaf pine forest featuring scenic overlooks.
What runners say about Longleaf Vista Nature Trail
“It’s a beautiful trail with a picnic area at the top and a stone gazebo that’s great for photos.”
We loved this hike, we didn't now that Louisiana had this type of hiking. We went on this trail in October and the weather was perfect. We will be coming back even though it's a 2.5 hour drive for us. Would recommend this trail to anyone who wants to get out an see some beautiful sights.
Explored Red Dirt on the Longleaf Vista Nature Trail yesterday. The scenic views were nothing short of breathtaking. The trails are like nature's invitation to tranquility—an immersion into the beauty of the outdoors. Perfect spot to soak in some fresh air and relish the stunning scenery.
I love a good hike and this one was amazing. It was absolutely beautiful and I will definitely be going again soon. There is a tree that fell over across the pathway towards the end but I just bear crawled under it and kept moving.
Great 1.5 mile hike in some beautiful longleaf pine and sweetgum bottoms. With benches along the way and a couple of look offs on the trail. Picking area and bathroom are available here also!
