We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Longview Shelter 9 yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Longview Shelter 9
Great Trail access, near Longview Lake. Great forests abound. I walked from Shelter 9 to Raytown Road, through this forest, along with others. We used Google Map and Earth to keep from getting lost. In the middle of it. We used hip and chest waders to access the waters of Lumpkins Fork Creek. 2023.
A nice little rest stop area along the longview bike path. Not too extraordinary, but you can stop and sit for a bit if you want
