Confirmed from Los Robles Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Los Robles Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (92 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Great trail system with many options, lots of trailheads, and it's well maintained.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Great views of Thousand Oaks from the hill, and the communication towers up on the hill.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“There's a good amount of shade on this trail, at least in the beginning.”

It's the best hiking trail with your dogs!! There's a lot of shade, and the paths are nice after the rain. We started from the other side of the trail ( it's the tail, I think), which is covered by trees and plants, so even if it's sunny afternoon, it's still cool for my golden retriever. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this hiking trail. The entire loop of the trail is about 3 miles.

Went there on June 14th. The weather was nice. This trail is good for beginners. I have some medical issues and been trying to get out more to work on my health and was recommended this hike. I went to the far end and hiked where their is wood railing.

Peaceful trail, was midweek. Only went a mile. Definitely coming back to go over the mountain next time, explore. Definitely bring LOTS of water, electrolytes, snacks and hat.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
