We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Lost Lake Trail Head yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lost Lake Trail Head
“Beautiful trail with views overlooking the river and the lake.”
That’s a really cool trail. Amazing view to the Des Moines river from the view point. One thing is lots of mosquitoes and it was unexpected. Suggest to bring the repellent.
Wonderful trail. Saw frogs and turtles on the smaller pond. Takes about and 1 hour max. Good view if you go on the path behind the two benches.
Beautiful trail with views overlooking the river and the lake. One of my favorite short hikes.
