Confirmed from Luther Hill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Luther Hill Park
“Love the skatepark and the lake Beach area is usually pretty clean and not very packed Wish the parking situation was better thou.”
“You get a great view of the water and maybe even get to see a herd of deer run by!”
Its a great little Spencer gem. It's handicap accessible, which is rare. It has gripped mats that extends from the ramp to the water so wheelchair users can reach the water. It has both a sunny beach area and a shady grassy area with the softest grass. The lake is beautiful and the drive/walk in is gorgeous.
My kids and I are having a wonderful summer swimming here. They love jumping off the dock, and swimming with their inflatables. The water is usually very warm, and there is a lot of room for beach chairs, and blankets, etc. There are also benches around the beach, if you just want to relax.
First of all if you grew up in Spencer in the early 90's you know that Luther Hill was the spot in the summer for swimming lessons and weekend cookouts (as well as Howe Park)... Troop 201 (which I was a part of along with Tom Durkin, Jesse Hadley, Anthony Vigeant and Ryan Brooks) built the original skatepark here.
I love Luther Hill Park. If you want a great place to walk in Spencer, this is IT! It is so peaceful and quiet, you would NEVER know how close you are to Rt. 9! You get a great view of the water and maybe even get to see a herd of deer run by! The wildlife is AMAZING!

- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
