We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Madison County Transit Nature Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Madison County Transit Nature Trail
Peaceful and lots of trees providing shade most of the way. Also, friendly to bicycles.
Overall a great trail for biking or walking. Starts in GC and I’ve only ever went as far as SIUE. Some rough rocky parts once you get past pontoon beach, so I give it 4 overall.
Nice riding experience, Long enough for a day ride and connects to even longer trails.
