Confirmed from Mare Island San Pablo Bay Hiking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Easy trail, good for walking and jogging, nice views, bird watching, beautiful sunset area.”

Easy and flat trail. Once you park, just follow the trail along the fence. As others have stated... no shade along the entire trail. Good walk, but not too exciting. Grab a beer at Mare Island Brewery when you're done!

Gravel Trail that walks towards the water with historical military and current nature facts. There are benches that you can sit and enjoy the view looking out on the water and the hills on the other side. Not many people only saw two making it beautiful quite and a good walk!

★★★★☆ — Joey , May 2018

Nice flat easy going loop trails with 360° views. Great place to watch sunsets. I have seen lots of different birds, including owls! I have also spotted what looked like a coyote. Trails are extra wide making it easy to social distance. Stay out of the tall grass cause there are ticks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
