Confirmed from Marks Slough Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“It has a couple of places where you walk behind some houses which is less idyllic but otherwise its gorgeous.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Large open space for playing fetch with your dog, benches along the path, water access and trees for shade”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Quiet paved trail that has benches and nice view of the river/creek.”

Beautiful trail with fully paved walking path. Lots of tall, shady trees, nice view of the river. 2 downsides being the street has to be crossed to enjoy the full trail (cars drive at a steady clip here, be careful) & sometimes the smell from the sanitation plant is less than enjoyable

★★★★☆ — Byron , May 2019

Great trails for walking or riding bikes. My family and I have also come to Mark's Slough and played in the meadow when snow falls. There is a water treatment plant across the road and tends to smell pungent. So long as you're not close to it, it's alright. The trails extend to another parking lot.

This trail is great! Awesome area to walk dogs or go for a picnic. The view of the water is great. Definitely returning again! It was so quiet out there with minimal people as well. Good area to take a book to read on one of the benches.

The asphalt paths are nice. Goes from one side of the road to the other. Large open space for playing fetch with your dog, benches along the path, water access and trees for shade

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 15 mentions

“Cyclist beware, because of the remoteness many dog owners walk their dogs off the leash and that can be a hazard.”
