Confirmed from Mass Audubon's Pierpont Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Mass Audubon's Pierpont Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (42 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Beautiful and peaceful walk with a small lake at the end where on a good day you can see the beavers swimming.”

I recently visited this sanctuary with a friend for a short hike for the first time. It's a nice spot with a few trails to explore. One leads around a meadow while two others loop through the woods and the main trail leads to the shore of Pierpont Meadow Pond. There's another pond overlook off one of the other trails.

Nice little hike , definitely wanna come back when the lupine is in bloom . Saw the most fish I've seen down here since I've visited ( no fishing) also says there's a cabin for rent .. looked at the map and didn't see a cabin on the hike . But if there really is one I'd definitely rent it

day 1 (14may24), sanctuary 3: small sanctuary, a couple of loop trails off of there-and-back main trail. common yellowthroat (warbler) in hedgerow between trail and hayfield. hummingbird (in mid may!) poking around fruiting structure of clayton's interrupted fern at edge of field.

A great little nature walk area. The views of the meadows and hearing the birds was the best experience. The trails are short and you can walk every trail in under 2 hours. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Mass Audubon's Pierpont Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
