We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Tuft's Branch Valley Wildlife Sanctuary yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tuft's Branch Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (35 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Not a bad little looping trail system, does the trick, a little scenic knoll up at the top portion.”

This was my grandparents land. It is sacred to me, and I am delighted no one can build on it. My grandfather was a WWII Veteran. He lost full use of one of his arms in combat. Still, he returned, and went on to run a highly successful dairy from his farm at 11 Healy Road. I grew up running, riding & working this land.

Not a bad little looping trail system, does the trick, a little scenic knoll up at the top portion.. but overall not bad, nothing crazy, but you can get a couple miles in if you go around and hit all the little trail extensions, and everything is very clearly marked, which is definitely a plus!

Nice place to go for a walk in the woods. Easy trails and big open field at top of the hill overlooking Nichols college. Dogs are welcome on a leash.

One of Dudley's hidden gems such a beautiful meadow up top and great trails below. I almost hate to share it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
