Confirmed from Mattis Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
23.8-acre park housing a trail, fishing pond & open space, plus picnic tables, benches & sculptures.
What runners say about Mattis Park
“The park is very clean and well kept.”
“Mattis Park - the beautiful park overlooking from the Amdocs Office.”
“Love running in the park 🏃 while my family enjoy fishing and picnicking 🥘”
This is a nice quiet place to walk or bike around and there were families fishing on the west shore. The park district maintains it well and I'm appreciative of the infrastructure improvements they've made to the pathways over the years.
Mattis Park - the beautiful park overlooking from the Amdocs Office. It spans over almost 24 acres and the land has been donated by Mrs.H.I.Cone and Mrs.Alan McDonald. Coming to office is a delight with a view of the lush greenery and the divine fall colors to look around to.
Great place to walk, run or bike in Champaign. Plenty of room for all.
I've been to this place twice, I like that it has several trails and that is centric, I feel safe walking or running even in the evening. There is a trail across the street that I'm going to explore in the future, seems more secluded. It's also very close to harvest market, which makes it very convenient

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
