Confirmed from Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quiet 21-acre grounds with walking trails & a wildlife habitat with free-roaming peacocks.

Mayfield Park is one of those places that surprised me in the best way. I went thinking it would just be a quick walk, but once you’re inside it feels quiet and calm, like you’ve stepped out of Austin for a bit.
This was definitely worth visiting. We had a great time. It's so beautiful and peaceful. I loved seeing the peacocks so close. They were just chilling in the shade. We saw about 6 peacocks and several cute lizards. There were also snapping turtles in the lily ponds that poked their little heads out of the water.
Visit early morning or late evening. Due to nature of the park, it may be hot. Parking is free and usually not filled out..if it is you can park on the street. This is amazing place to visit with friends and family because it has two different attractions here.
It was a really great experience! There are reviews stating that there were no peacocks but dont let that stop you. There definetly are. To see them best, go around 5 to 5:45 ish, to one - get a great sunset lake picture of the lake when you hike down the trail, and two - see the peacocks when they are fed at that…
