We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of McGee Creek Scenic Natural Area Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about McGee Creek Scenic Natural Area Trails
“This was a very beautiful area only about 20 minutes from the state park.”
“Beautiful, quiet with nice dispersed camping options for backpackers!”
Great area for hiking, backpacking, camping and spending time in nature. Beautiful area. We had the park to ourselves during the week. The trails were decently marked but it is definitely helpful with a trail app like Alltrails. Look forward to coming back and hitting more trails.
Great campground , clean with friendly staff. Trails were a bit unkept, so be sure take a compass (good advice at all times) , but some trails were easy and beginner friendly.
We loved the peace and quiet here. The pine-oak forest has little undergrowth so there is a bit of a cathedral sense to walking here beneath tall trees. The West Branch and West Boundary trails we took were gently undulating- so easy on the knees.
This was a very beautiful area only about 20 minutes from the state park. There are a lot of trails throughout this recreational area. You can also camp on the trails which is an added bonus. We saw several people that had their tents out. It was just absolutely beautiful to enjoy Oklahoma's outdoors.
