Confirmed from McGregor Park & Cumberland Riverwalk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Charming park hugging the Cumberland River, with picnic areas, a museum, trails & a boat ramp.
What runners say about McGregor Park & Cumberland Riverwalk
“The grounds are kept superbly clean, the trees are professional lit for the holidays and you're sure to always find a friendly face.”
“Beautiful spot to see the sunset colors and watch boats go by.”
We enjoy walking here. We like watching the Cumberland River and seeing the confluence of the Red River. It's always fun to watch barges go down the river while you take a walk. The railroad bridge is a swing bridge to allow large vessels pass through.
Walking the river was great! Wonderful views in both directions! The kids loved walking the trail and also playing on the playground! There are a lot of places to eat within minutes of the park if you plan on having a picnic! We will definitely be bringing the family back in the summer time!
Really great park to watch the sunset. Great spot to have a new meaningful chat, picnic dinner or free low key date. Many people were fishing with kids, couples walking, chatting hanging out but it was not busy at all on Saturday evening 630-830pm. I felt safe and overall park was clean and well kept.
Truly enjoy walking on the Riverwalk. Very nice views of the river and grounds are always well manicured. Restroom facilities available and with Porta Johns positioned throughout the walk. Pavilion is available for rent. Outdoor stage area also available -perfect for weddings or parties.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.

- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
