Confirmed from McMillan Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about McMillan Trailhead
Great access to hiking and biking especially once they finish the trail.
Nice addition to connect the northern trails to the southern trails, now able to bike from Hart to Muskegon without ever leaving the bike trail. One suggestion would be to pave the dirt road where the 2 bike trails connect, not a big deal for me however, because I have a mountain bike. :)
Great little parking lot at the southern end of the trail. McMillan is a dirt road, but if you have a road bike like me, once you get across the street, the trail is paved and very smooth until to get to Montague.
We love that this is a safe trail for our family to walk or bike on. No worries about being too close to the road with little ones. Smooth pavement. Great place for a stroll or bike ride.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
