Confirmed from Meacham Grove Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Protected woodland groves, meadows & wetlands along the meandering Spring Brook Creek.
What runners say about Meacham Grove Forest Preserve
“Is quite clean compared to other natural areas, there does not seem to be as much garbage strewn about which is always a positive.”
“Overall it may be around 3 miles of beautiful scenery, lots and lots of tall trees, and the ponds and streams have a ton of beautiful mallards.”
“If you want to calm down a little, relax and enjoy the nature I think it’s perfect for you.”
This is a nice mile hike around an old quarry with paths that extend beyond the lake if you're looking for a little more distance. The trail is gravel and wide. Good for running, walking, or biking.
Awesome Forest Preserve with a paved and gravel loop trail plus a wooded dirt trail. Beautiful place for a walk or run.
Very serene during the cold weather. Went in February very little traffic. Lot of different elevations including a very steep one on the last leg of the lake trail. Great for a good hike.
A beautiful place for a walk, hike, bike or even cross-country ski around the lake and through the adjacent wetlands on 2.5 miles of trails, which include a stretch of the North Central DuPage Regional Trail. The eastern portion is a smooth blacktop trail, about the width of a typical city sidewalk.

“This forest preserve features a wonderful mix of forest, open grassy areas, a big hill, a lake, and a stream running through.”
“There are numerous benches along the way, a few garbage cans, and a fair amount of parking and entrances.”
“Then the pedestrian bridge carries the regional trail to the Savanna Trail on the west side of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road, which is crushed gravel.”
“There is the main loop around the water and an option that takes you either up the hill or around it.”
“Note: can hear traffic at times (bridge over street to cross between preserve sections), one porta potty at beginning, bring bug spray.”
