Confirmed from Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (37 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Great for being able to get right into nature quickly as its right off the main road. You can feel totally solitary even though it's just a few steps away from the hustle & bustle. There are a few pathways to walk and its quite large but not so big you'd get lost.

★★★★★ — Elaina , Nov 2019

If there is a "caretaker" living in that old house, no care is being taken. It's going to ruin. On the other hand, the third-growth woods around it is laced with informal bike paths and walking paths, and during the leafy months these would be like tunnels through the forest and very attractive.

★★★★☆ — Daniel , Dec 2024

A Great Place for a Walk. This historic property is cared for by MBELT and boasts a historic 21 room manor, acres of woodlands and one very nice pond which has lots of wildlife. I would certainly visit again!

★★★★★ — Ryan , Dec 2018

This is a great open space day hike spot near the urban core. It is also accessible by bus. It is a Victorian era country estate from the days when Medford was 'out in the country,.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🪵 Boardwalk

“The ponds are nice, and the short boardwalk and viewing deck are safe.”
