Confirmed from Merrymount Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
An 80-acre community gathering place including amphitheater, sports stadium, fields & boathouse.
What runners say about Merrymount Park
“Grass was clean and there was a metal black bench to sit near the water .”
“It has basketball, baseball and a great area to walk around and enjoy plus a beautiful fountain dedicated to the brave men and women who have fought and died for this country.”
“Wide Open Spaces - Large lawns and shady areas perfect for picnics, walking, or lounging - Peaceful atmosphere with a neighborhood feel 2.”
This is a beautiful open space in the heart of Quincy. Many trails to explore along the marshes where you can see anything from Egrets to Ospreys. Great photo opportunities. Well maintained.
I Love this place and the people who go there. Every Friday they have a Farmers Market, with lots to offer. This is a place to bring the kids and family. They offer water sports, hiking and more. I took my kids for a picnic and so happy I did. We purchased fresh fruits to enjoy.
It is a gorgeous, huge park with many walking, and running spaces. I enjoy the lake views with some amazing peaceful times. The parking is ample and I saw people bringing their dogs here to play around
Went here last week for the annual Flag Day parade! We had so much fun!! The parade was awesome (also one of the nations longest running flag day parade!!) And the firework display was beautiful!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
