Confirmed from Quincy Shores Reservation's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Beach featuring a 2.3-mi. jogging and biking trail, plus a playground, a lookout tower, and fields.
What runners say about Quincy Shores Reservation
“Beautiful views, easy to walk, wonderful area to explore.”
“Quiet today parking was readily available due to the dreary day.”
The 2.3-mile Wollaston Beach at Quincy Shore Reservation is the largest public beach in the Boston harbor, popular for its jogging & biking trail. Additionally, Caddy Park on the beach's southern end has more than 15 acres of fields and marsh, as well as a play area, lookout tower, and picnic tables.
So beautiful. Years of history with the area occupied originally by Native American tribes, then English settlers, and now, a very diverse population -- yet so much of the area is still well preserved as it was before outsiders arrived. There is Black's Creek where the tides were used to run a grist mill.
Along the 2.3 mile long Wollaston Beach of Quincy Shores Reservation is a wide sidewalk with signage describing the history of maritime Quincy. This is a fun way to spend an hour or two at the beach if you prefer to learn history instead of going in the water.
A good place for a walk, run or just enjoying some sun. There are some food and icecream places across the street.
