Confirmed from Michigan Sugar Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded nature reserve and trail system for hiking, biking and fishing, with a dirt parking lot.
What runners say about Michigan Sugar Trails
Nice place to take a walk and be glad to walk the trails again after the insane rain causing flooding we got gets dried up.
Nice excursion that really gives you a feel of being deep and secluded in the woods. The trailhead parking is ample, and access to the trail is pretty straightforward. There are two points of entry, I believe. One is right at the end of the clearing, which has a big wood cut map.
A small grove of Box Elder trees with a trail winding through. This area is pretty confined and when I was there in early December, there was a pretty strong smell of burnt sugar in the air. The area is surrounded by industry and commerce on both sides of the river.
Nice little trail on the middlegroumds in Bay City. Good for trail bikes or walking. Mostly nice and shady. No facilities.

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
