Confirmed from Mickinnick Trail Head 13's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular hiking area on the edge of Sandpoint with scenic views and a well-maintained trail.
What runners say about Mickinnick Trail Head 13
“5 miles to the top is very steep with a lot of rocks and roots on a well kept trail.”
“But the views were hit, many points during it gave us great view points of the whole lake and nearly the whole town.”
“The trail is easy to follow and there are a couple of benches at the top to take in the magnificent view.”
This hike is no joke. Beautiful but challenging. The 3.5 miles to the top is very steep with a lot of rocks and roots on a well kept trail. The top offers a great view of Sandpoint and the massive lake, and when the timing is right (we got lucky) a bounty of huckleberries.
Great maintained trail. Once on the trail, not a lot of shade so make sure to wear a hat and sunscreen. Great views along the way, and at top of the mountain. Unless you are in good shape, plan 3 to 4 hours to complete. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good hike
Amazing [steeep] trail, so close to everything but you feel like you’re really out there. A MUST do in Sandpoint. If you don’t want the whole 7+ miles there’s a great viewpoint with a bench .5 miles up (1 mile round trip).
Very nice trail. Though it was a bit challenging for me as I'm a bigger guy. We were able to make it to the first scenic route about halfway where theirs a bench. Gorgeous views, I recommend trying it out.
