Confirmed from Middlegrounds Metropark's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
28-acre urban park with a winding cycle & footpath built on reclaimed land beside the Maumee River.
What runners say about Middlegrounds Metropark
“It looks beautiful year-round and has restrooms to change clothes, ample parking, and lots of different locations with different scenery to change things up.”
“So peaceful to walk by the river, and maybe even watch a barge cross under the bridge.”
The path is near the river with up close views of the bridge. There’s a nice pavilion area with grills, picnic tables and bathrooms. Ample parking. People were walking, running, biking, fishing. We didn’t think the walking loop was very long.. maybe 1 mile?..
Great place to spend time with man's best friend at their dog park, also swim my dog in the kayak pond and the river. They have a great trail that ends where the old Fassett Street Bridge used stand before its collapse in 1957. When you see the old sandstone blocks they belong to it.
This park is the spot for the best views of Downtown Toledo! It’s right on the water with just over a mile of trails and very dog friendly! The park is never too crowded, and you get amazing views of the city skyline and the bridge! Also a great spot for fishing, bbq, or picnic.
Awesome trails, beautiful view and great sized free dog park. Now if dog owners would just clean up after their animals. I cleaned up about 5 of them plus my own dog's mess. Follow the rules people, don't spoil a good thing!
Trail conditions & character
“Google will tell you your destination in ON the bridge 😂 I suggest finding directions to the dog park instead of the park, the main entrance is just next to the dog park.”
