Confirmed from Millennium Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Natural retreat with 6 miles of accessible trails, playing fields, a canoe launch & scenic views.
What runners say about Millennium Park
“Great walk today with Bali the dog it was warm and the park is clean and lots of trails and hills I don’t know why but Bali the dog had a really happy there”
“Clean Well maintained Good amount of trails Great parking Higher than surrounding area = beautiful landscapes”
“Walking trails are both paved and unpaved, good for carriages and dog walking.”
I enjoy the walk along the Charles River. There is a canoe launch and animal life, including a family of otters, beavers, and occasionally, a great blue heron, as well as swans. The trails lead to meadows and glorious marshes!
This is a very big and wide open park with is a decent playground in the middle of it all. On the very top of the hill. Miles of walking trails going through a diverse ecosystem of field swamp wooded as well as along the Charles river. There's a boat ramp to bring canoes and kayaks.
Walking trails are both paved and unpaved, good for carriages and dog walking. Some paths have inclines, others do not. Paths circle around sports areas, limited parking during sports events. Forested dirt trails go through areas where you can see remnants of land fill from big dig and lots of waterfowl.
This is a relaxing place to exercise (walking alone or with a dog, jogging, biking, roller skatimg) and keep your body cool on hot summer days by catching constant mountain breeze on top of the hill if one cannot go to a beach to catch sea breeze. One can also sit down on a bench to rest or watch the sunset.
