Confirmed from Miller Nature Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Miller Nature Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (69 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

There was a chilly breeze rising from the wood-chipped trail, today. I had found this entrance off a residential street. Westwood, though on Google maps it only mentioned Arborview. Not much green, here in bushes or trees. It's all brown. ...

★★★★★ — Hallie , Apr 2021

We live very close to two entrances to this park and love walking it's trails. We walk in here at least twice a week with our dog and young daughters. I like that there is a very simple, clear path but there are some smaller less cleared paths that can be fun to explore. Everyone in our family loves it!

The park is nice with good hiking trails. Living near here, I will try to get the trails on maps ASAP

★★★★★ — Ronan , Aug 2016

A nice little patch of woods to visit in the middle of the city. This park has a lot of trails and hills along with the scenery to offer cyclists, hikers, or just taking a casual stroll.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🌳 Shaded / tree cover 5 mentions

“In only a few days and weeks, the tiniest and quickest changes will transform Miller Park, and the canopy will shade it, too.”

The practical stuff

  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
