Confirmed from Monks Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Monks Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (106 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“Great views and trails and sitting at one of the benches my daughter and I saw a DEER!”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Nice secluded, peaceful spot.”

This is a gorgeous small private area. It's for borne residents only. I was able to go and sneak a peek at this little slice of heaven because my niece was married on the beach there and she is a bourne resident.

★★★★★ — Sarah , Jul 2026

Great views. Safe for dogs of all breeds . Regularly policed. Views from five villages fourth of july. Mouth of buzzards bay. Most always parking two trails. Runs along side train tracks. Shallow areas for launching a boat or swimming. Walk to little island connected by walk path. Bench on the island 🤣

★★★★★ — Michelle , Feb 2021

Monks Park is one of my favorite places to visit, picturesque, charming actually. Sightseeing, hiking, walking, boating, fishing, clamming, so much to offer in a small tucked away paradise. I stopped to check out monstrous mushrooms found at the entrance of the park.

★★★★☆ — Kandee , Jun 2024

No development, a natural seaside environment pleasant surroundings. Wooded nature trails in adjacent wooded conservation area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
