Confirmed from Montebello Oaks Open Space Trail.'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Montebello Oaks Open Space Trail.
“It's beautiful, not crowded (I am often the only person there) and has some decent hilly terrain.”
Trailhead opening moved from map designated area. A bit rough. Open space with minimal maintenance. Beautiful trees and various walking levels. Beware of dog dirt along paths. :( too bad owners don’t seem to care.
I walk here every chance I get. It's beautiful, not crowded (I am often the only person there) and has some decent hilly terrain. If you have mobility challenges I have seen a few elderly people enjoying the trails with trekking poles. Cell service is great here as far as safety goes.
Open green belt with rural type trails tucked between upscale tract homes and Hwy 46 — perfect for a walk with or without dogs. During our mile + a half jaunt we saw one other walker in the distance. There are no amenities like restrooms or benches — just a wonderful, natural, bird-filled experience.
This is a really pleasant place to walk, it feels wild and secluded yet it’s right in town the only problem is people not picking up after their dogs or picking it up and then leaving the bag on the trail come on people do better.

- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
