Confirmed from Montgomery Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed, clean park featuring playgrounds for kids, a riverside trail and live music performances.
What runners say about Montgomery Park
“Nice lil park , Montgomery has such a small town feel and the parks reflect that with nice clean areas and safe areas to be.”
“Beautiful little park on the banks of the Fox River.”
Really nice park with tons of fun playground selections. Also close to the river and another park across the street. Lots of space to run and play.
Very nice clean park. It has trails to take a walk. Its near the river where you can also go fishing. Not enough garbage cans the only ones that i saw were at the little picnic house. Overall its decent for the kids to play.
Nice small park along the Fox River. There's short walking paths, a playground, benches overlooking the river, and a Veterans memorial. There's street parking or a parking lot.
Awesome area to sit and gather your thoughts or have a small gathering with family and friends. The running waters are so soothing. Great place for fishing as well!

Plan your run at Montgomery Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
