Confirmed from Monument Trailhead - New Santa Fe Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Monument Trailhead - New Santa Fe Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (8 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

It has restrooms with running water. Generally clean. During the summer season get some good food trucks to stop in for a bit. 300 Days of Shine is right there as well if you want to wet your whistle. The little garden and picnic bench is a nice place to rest after a walk.

★★★★★ — Gary , Aug 2023

Excellent trail to take the entire family. Bird seeing and wild animal all over.

★★★★★ — Michael , Oct 2022

Plenty of parking on a Saturday morning. They have a pavilion and a few picnic tables. They do have a bathroom though it wasn’t open when I went. The trail is right off of the parking lot making easy access. They have a few interesting sculptures around the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
