Confirmed from Monument Valley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Century-old park with ballfields & paths for running & cycling, plus a pool & formal gardens.
What runners say about Monument Valley Park
“Large beautiful park with tall fall foliage trees, tennis courts, swing sets, walking/biking trails, creek.”
Fantastic place to have a picnic or read. There are a couple of large fields to play sports and many hiking/ bike trails. One of the fields also has a baseball diamond. Lots of large trees provide the right amount of shade to spend hours here. For parents, there are also a couple of play areas.
Nice park located right next to Colorado College. There’s a high walking bridge over I-25, making it convenient for students, bike riders or hikers. There’s also pickle ball courts and walking paths around the park. Has a chill, trendy vibe. Bring your latte.
Extremely well maintained, the park features wide paths for joggers, walkers and bikers, a pool in the summer, ponds full of wildlife, pickleball courts and a lush garden tended by volunteers. In fact, I can't think of a public park in Colorado that offers such a comprehensive range of resources.
This is such a lovely park. There is pickle ball courts, a playground, a duck pond, hiking/biking trails, and a swimming pool for the summer time. The swimming pool has public swimming hours. The pool has a slide and diving board. Theres also picnic tables and areas to enjoy a nice little picnic in the park.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
