Confirmed from Moraine View State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Park is very clean and has the state has recently spent some money on the park fixing the roads, electric and the park overall.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“November 1st week would be the right time to see beautiful fall colors and it has lake.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Calm water, a gentle breeze, and wildlife everywhere — ducks, a heron, and even a barred owl calling from the trees.”

Camped 2 nights in the Tall Timber camp, site 10. I've also camped many nights at sites 2 and 5 and always had a wonderful time. The sites are dispersed around a 1.5 mile loop trail. It's a shady, pretty campground with space for for good sized tents in many, a few smaller more cozy sites as well.

Spent the whole day here exploring and hiking and fishing. The primitive tent sites are awesome. About a 1.5 mile trail with 8 camp sites scattered along the way. I will definitely be coming here through the summer to camp and fish.

★★★★★ — Kevin , Jul 2019

Calm and inviting spot of campers. Really loved the camping experience. If you have not booked a camping spot online, and decide to walk-in, you would have to setup the tent on the spot first. They cahrge $20 per night for camping. Has restrooms and shower area. Really loved the place. Also has a couple of lakes.

Beautiful trails and great fishing spots plenty of camping. It's definitely a gem not too many mushrooms here. (during my visit)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
