Confirmed from Morris Canal Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park of wooded land with a lake, hiking trails and an old Morris Canal.
What runners say about Morris Canal Park
“It's just a beautiful park that gives the world a piece of its light and purity.”
The park was very pleasant. It was clean & had decent parking. There were a few picnic tables with handicapped parking nearby. It is not a paved lot nor were there any paved paths. There is a pond stocked with fish. The gentlemen who were fishing were satisfied. There were two marked trails.
I found this place by chance and despite the cold and rain, I had to explore it. There is one looped trail around the lake area and on the other end markings of blue, yellow and white for trail identity. I can't wait to check it out on a sunny spring day.
Nice little gem tucked away in the woods. Nice little pond where you can fish, and a couple of short hiking trails that skirt the old Morris Canal.
BEWARE OF TICKS!!! Please check yourself and your dogs for ticks when visiting. I removed 3 from my dog. Great place to sit and listen to the sounds of nature with a beautiful lake. Hiking trails throughout the park. Recommend good shoes and bug spray.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
