Confirmed from Mount Tom State Reservation's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Not to mention that it’s massive. There is a beautiful lake and several streams you can find along the forest. If you like hiking, there are plenty of trails that you can take and some of them lead to the summit of Mt Tom.

Mount Tom is an amazing collection of hiking trails with beautiful views of the surrounding area. Just a mile off of Route 91 in Holyoke MA, this beautiful hiking spot is very accessible year round for whatever outdoor activity you enjoy in the densely wooded park.

What an absolutely beautiful park that boasts many trails! A great escape from the hustle and bustle. Every time you go there’s a new trail, tower, waterfall or view to see. Since it’s so versatile you can bring kids and dogs. There is ample parking. Excited to go back!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 29 mentions

“Don’t be afraid to go off the beaten path and you’ll see a former wave pool covered in colorful graffiti, a breathtaking view of an old quarry, tiny pond or an abandoned ski lift.”
