Confirmed from Mountain Bay Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Mountain Bay Trail
“Beautiful crushed limestone trails, lots of wildlife to see”
My first day on the trail in the middle of May, traffic is light on the trail this time of the year, but the trail is in good condition after Winter. As I got into Shawano, the trail deteriorated. Fallen trees and a 100 yard washout made for tough riding.
Quiet, beautiful, and safe. I really like that each mile is marked. It's a straight flat trail with lots of wild life and wild flowers. This trail is great for a long bike ride or long easy run. Also, the trail segment near County Rd Q in Ringle intersects with the Ice Age Trail. Watch for the yellow blazes.
The loose surface trail.is okay. My family (adult son. Adult daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and grandsons enjoyed the ride from Weston to ringle
Pretty trail, some nature but it's more in town than your typical hiking trail

The practical stuff

- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
