Confirmed from Mt. Holyoke Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Mt. Holyoke Trailhead
“The trail is well maintained but rocky and some lose soil in places.”
“Beautiful scenic views and plenty of open area at the top with picnic tables and some interesting historical monuments.”
Nice hike. Many different paths and clearly market. Not too strenuous. Great views of the farmland and you can see out to the UMass library. Will definitely be back to explore different trails. Also the parking lot is very close to a dairy farm which has ice cream.
Excellent hike in the woods. We meandered through about halfway up the mountain and were rewarded with some beautiful views. In addition, it was a great autumn day. A little chilly and damp, but it was serene and tranquil on the mountain.
Easy parking, you can hike the mountain trail which is pretty clear but a bit challenging or you can walk the paved road to the top. We hiked the trail up and took the road down. Beautiful scenic views and plenty of open area at the top with picnic tables and some interesting historical monuments.
A beautiful little. It's a short hike to the summit, just over a mile. There's some relatively steep parts but nothing bad. The trail is well-maintained.
