Confirmed from Muhlenberg Rail Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Muhlenberg Rail Trail
“Both the creek and and trail are well maintained.”
I cannot believe this fine trail was not a "place" on Google Maps before I added it. This is wonderful paved 1.75 mile trail with plenty of shade in the summer months. It is well maintained too. Grab your bike or just your sneakers and enjoy the outdoors all year round.
Nothing is wrong with this trail... I honestly wish it was longer! My boyfriend and I rode our bikes and checked out the creek. Both the creek and and trail are well maintained.
Nice rail to trail path! They have a story you can read on your walk. I went about 1.5 miles to the bridge before I turned around. Lots of squirrels and beautiful trees on this autumn day.
This is a very nice trail to walk or ride bike on. Very nice scenery along the way.
Trail conditions & character
“Nice level walk definitely for beginners trying to get in shape,an elders too.”
Plan your run at Muhlenberg Rail Trail
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
