Confirmed from Wertz's Red Bridge Recreational Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a trail along a river featuring scenic views, picnic areas, and a covered bridge.

“The almost 2 mile walk from the red bridge to Reber's bridge is so peaceful and therapeutic!”
Great place to start and finish your run, walk, or bike ride. Come on out!
Great hiking/walking spot and the views along the trail are nice as well. Was a little wet today and water was covering some of the trail but easy to get around.
Finding the trail was quick and easy, with a dedicated parking lot that had plenty of space. The red bridge near the start is a really cool feature—visually striking and fun to walk through—and it also connects to a longer trail for those looking to explore more.
One of Berks County's best outdoor destinations. Trails are maintained excellently and the serenity can't be beat. Wonderful area to just unplugging and enjoying the best nature has to offer in this area. Highly recommended.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
