Confirmed from Mushroom Pond Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Mushroom Pond Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (61 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“I love this place it's always quiet wildlife around a lot of ducks geese you'll see rabbits snakes all different kinds there really cool really peaceful it's a nice walk”

Nice trail, paved paths, a pond, birds, and a mushroom tower. What else do you need from a Thanksgiving day walk?

★★★★★ — Bernard , Nov 2022

Peaceful, quiet spot that is not in the mountains. Great little pond ducks and gravel walking trail! We have been coming here for years!

★★★★★ — Kellye , Aug 2025

I almost didn't want to give this place a great review, because I'd prefer to have the trail all to myself, but I admit it's wonderful here. There are all kinds of established concrete and pebble paths to walk on as well as a few hidden little dirt trails.

★★★★★ — All , Oct 2019

Nice hidden lake for fishing, trails for biking and shade for relaxing, I loved it!!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
