Confirmed from Nankin Lake Park Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a lake providing opportunities for fishing, walking, kayaking, and biking, plus a waterfall.
What runners say about Nankin Lake Park Area
“I have not seen so many geese and ducks and swans and one location they're beautiful.”
“Small mud hole of a lake, but very peaceful in a busy part of the suburbs.”
Nankin Lake Park Area is a nice bit of nature in the Wayne County suburbs. Most visitors enjoy walking, biking, fishing and kayaking as the seasons allow. There are mountain biking trails on the west side of the lake, a small man made water fall on the south side and parking off Hines Drive.
Small mud hole of a lake, but very peaceful in a busy part of the suburbs. It's worth the time to go a few miles west to Newberg lake, where it's a real lake, abet shallow, and there's restrooms that are open.
They've dredged the lake this year and paved the parking lot. They have also paved the walkway with asphalt. And landscaped along the bank with large rock where you can sit. I saw a few guys fishing. One said that's he's caught small mouth bass and pike in there.
I love the trail walk to see how nature HAS took a hard hit through the season embrace the peace of God creation

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
