Confirmed from Neutaconkanut Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Neutaconkanut Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (259 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“It was a beautiful autumn day, the layout of the wooded areas in the park are great.”

So easily accessible from the city, with a playground skate park and gentle hiking trails -- but the absolute highlight of Neutaconkanut is the view out over the city. All cities should have trails and trees and beauty this easily reached.

Very nice park with parking. A lot of recreational activities. Public bathroom, pool, skateboard, basketball court, fields, piknik area, etc. Great for families and everyone. Hiking trails need more paths and guidance though... and also needs better views. Walking paths with no views basically.

★★★★☆ — Zarina , Jul 2022

I love hiking, and his little urban gem is one of the best, and most demanding, full of hills and rocks and root-thick trails but so worth it in terms of workout and a stunning view of Providence from on high. Great fun walk, just be ready to sweat...even in winter.

★★★★★ — Paul , Mar 2019

Typical City Park, but with expanding amenities. Large open fields, hiking hill, playground, lighted basketball 🏀 court and skate park 🛹. Baseball ⚾ fields. Farmers market and community art exhibits held here on occasion. Go as a family or with a friend for safety.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
