Confirmed from Neversink Loop's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area featuring a 6-mi. loop trail offering river and forest views.
What runners say about Neversink Loop
“So many trails and ruins to see along the way, plus it hooks up with the Exeter Scenic trail via the graffitied train bridge.”
“The trails wear I started were well marked but when I got to the witches hat it got vague I wanted to do the long loop but couldn't locate the trail I was looking for.”
“And chances are you may be subject to someone blasting music out of their parked car from nearby houses while you are trying to get your peaceful nature walk in.”
“It’s an easy walk and there are some good uphill portions.”
Nice hike near the city of Reading Views of the pagoda and the Schuylkill River. Just over a 5 mile loop. Do a web search to see photos of the amazing resort hotels that stood on the mountain before WW1.
Love Neversink so much, I’ve come up here dozens of times over the years. So many trails and ruins to see along the way, plus it hooks up with the Exeter Scenic trail via the graffitied train bridge.
Very nice hike. Some inclines are steep and lengthy, but these are offset by easier sections. It's very nice in the winter (when I was there). The Witches Hat pavilion is a nice payoff for your trouble getting up there!
Very nice loop trail, highly recommend. Orange trail is approximately 6.28 mile with mainly railroad grade 1% or so except starting point at Klapperthal Road just about 1/4 mile SW it climbs a few hundred feet in switchbacks that's not as bad as the that one SW near Klapperthal Junction know as the Lectric Slide.
