We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Newberry Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Newberry Trail
“Still, especially at dawn and dusk these trails are beautiful to traverse.”
Beautiful views of the river🏞️ from this paved trail. Great for a 🚶walk, run🏃♀️ or bike ride🚲! From the river going with the flow, you paddle along this trail(river right) as you traverse the Appleton Locks and paddle through the city🚣♀️.
Fantastic trail along the Fox River. Fall is a great time for a nice walk and enjoy the colors.
This trail along with the other trails in downtown Appleton (Telulah Park Trail and North Island Trail) are good urban trails. I use them in the spring, summer and fall on my longer routes bike commuting to work.
Google didn't direct me to the proper place to park. Would recommend you search Riverhearth apartments and try to park on the side streets around there. Trail goes in both directions along the Fox River. Had to ask multiple people how to get there. Trail not marked at all. Pretty sad for Appleton.
