The Newington Dog Park has been a tremendous addition to the town. It's a great place to bring your dog to run around and socialize with other dogs. There are two large fenced areas, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. With more apartments being built in Newington this is a valuable perk to have.
The size of the larger dog area is decent and my girl can run non stop. The majority of our visits have been positive and I've met many wonderful people/dogs. Some visits have been not so positive but nothing so bad that I stay away. It can get muddy but it's outside and it rains, so puddles happen. The best part?
Beautiful park in a quiet location. There are separate runs for big dogs and little dogs, both decently clean and with plenty of space. Benches for humans and bowls for pups are a nice touch. We've occasionally had issues with poorly trained dogs starting fights, though no one was injured.
Very nice dog park, really clean and well designed. Pleanty of trees for shade and a large are for big dogs. It's nice to have one near by other than Rocky Hill or weathersfield. Recommend you bring a chair!
