Confirmed from North Lakes Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“This place is always clean, well-lit, and maintained like a top-tier spot for the community.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful Lake, playground, North Park, rec Center, and other athletic fields.”

This park is really nice and spacious. This also have a kids playground. Which seemed like very popular among kids. I saw a lot of kids playing in there. This park also have trails for walking, and a lot of space for other sports. It seemed to me some development works are going on.

Great for a walk, great if you have kids, It can get pretty busy with kids and teenager sports events and the parking gets full early is always better. There’s a pond for fishing on a floating bridge to get you closer to the water. The dirt trail is great for walking or biking.

This is easily one of the best all-around parks in the Denton area. We're local, and it's a fantastic spot for the whole family. For the Kids: There's so much for the kids to do. They love the playgrounds, and there's just a ton of open space for them to run around and burn off energy.

North Lakes Park is a standout in Denton. This place is always clean, well-lit, and maintained like a top-tier spot for the community. Our active boy, Maximus, loves playing & running in the pins. The parking is easy & there's plenty. There's a good mile or so loop that takes you through the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“Lots of options for things to do here: hiking/biking trails, soccer, dog park, rec center, disc golf, golf, tennis, remote control aircraft runway/field and a pond.”
