Confirmed from Northlake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Big community park offering soccer fields close to the lake, as well as trails.
What runners say about Northlake Park
“Super super bonus is the somewhat short dirt trail, that is also flat, that leads amongst many different types of beautiful grasses and flowers to the north point of Utah lake.”
“Nothing amazing, but definitely a quiet, bird filled peaceful park.”
My dog drives my park game, and we were both pleased with this outdoor playground. Not only is it a very short drive for us (not exactly close enough to walk), but you can see the gorgeous mountain range, you're close to the lake, there are little water reservoirs (?
I walked along the walking path and it's simply beautiful! The path is pathed and in great condition, and it closely goes along the lake. It's peaceful, with pretty views to appreciate. This is a long path that's great for walking, biking, inline skating, running and more. Definitely recommend!
This was the perfect Sunday picnic place for all aged members of my family young and old. My elder family members could walk around on the paved trail, my younger family members loved to explore alongside the trail amongst the trees that make paths and archways with their branches.
This park is great for walking, biking, and soccer! There are tons of fields here and a few trails leading to the lake linked up here along with trails that go around the park. The nature here is very beautiful. There’s also bathrooms!

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
