We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Nostrand Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Nostrand Trail
I enjoyed this trail. It’s a bit rugged, but well marked. People who like perfectly coiffed, manicured trails depicted in glossy brochures probably won’t like this one... But it’s a nice walk in the woods if you’re not an Instagram influencer striking a pose in your new $200 boots.
This was a great trail for people who want to hike hilly terrain and are in great shape. Not a family hike. I went with my four year old and he told me that he never wants to go again. (There are a lots of roots and rocks) and the trail map qualifies the trails as "difficult".
I visited Sherman Audubon Event across the street. Wonderful, great bunch of volunteers and wonderful trails, scenery, and event couldn't have been better
