Confirmed from Oak Hill Community Park and Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

Great park with friendly trails for hiking or biking. Glad this area was saved as it is a great spot for natural recreation and restoration. Owned and operated by Foothills Conservancy, there is plenty of parking and currently 2 portable toilets with a washing station.

What a wonderful gem this is for an excellent hike. Really good views, lots of woods providing excellent shade. Views of Grandfather Mountain, Dobson’s Knob, Mt. Mitchell and the South Mountains can be seen on the Sassafras Trail.

★★★★★ — Bryan , Oct 2025

This park currently has two hiking trails and one biking trail. The hiking trails A and B are well marked, and both are about a 1.5 mile loop. Both trails A and B go up a gradual incline leading to cleared areas with distant views of Linville Ridge and the South Mountains.

Oak Hill is a great place to explore! I’m so stoked to see more trails in this area to give residents and tourists more options. The mountain bike trails are great for beginners as they don’t have any leg destroying climbs like some of the trails in these neck of the woods.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
