Confirmed from Ocean County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Once the estate of John D. Rockefeller, this large park offers lake activities, picnicking & trails.

LAKEWOOD: we have been quoted as saying that Lakewood is very congested, but you would never know it while enjoying all the nature that Ocean County Park has to offer.
Have been coming to this wonderful park for 40 years! The beauty and energy of the trees and lakes are fabulous. There is much to do there with trails, playgrounds, fields, picnic areas, dog park, and disk golf.
This is one of the most beautiful parks in Ocean County, with plenty of parking spaces. The beach is swimmable; but it does not always have a lifeguard on duty. There are several trails inside. I enjoyed running with the scenic views.
I visited Ocean County Park in Lakewood, NJ, and had a great time! The park is very beautiful , especially in the fall when the trees change colors. There are plenty of walking paths and open fields to enjoy. If you're looking for something to do, there are lots of options like disc golf, tennis, and baseball.
